Terms of Service
Version 1.0 · Last updated Aug 6, 2026
This document is not available in your language yet and is shown in EN.
These terms govern your use of Melbarrel. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that company.
1. The service
Melbarrel is a business management platform. It provides a customer record, scheduling, quoting and invoicing, document signing, a website builder and a set of industry specific modules. Which modules are available to you depends on the plan and the modules activated for your account.
2. Accounts
You must give accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for everything done under your account, for the accounts you create for your team, and for keeping credentials confidential. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.
3. Plans, fees and renewal
- Plans are subscriptions to the platform. What differs between them is scale - team members, branches, websites and AI usage - not which features are switched on. Current prices and limits are on the pricing page.
- Paid plans are billed in advance for the period you select and renew automatically until cancelled.
- Fees are exclusive of taxes unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.
- You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for. Except where the law requires otherwise, fees already paid are not refundable.
- We may change prices. Existing subscriptions keep their price until the end of the current period, and we will give notice before a new price applies.
- If a payment fails we may suspend paid features until it is settled.
4. Your content
Everything you put into the platform stays yours. You grant us only the permission we need to host, process, back up and display it so that the service can work, and to provide support when you ask for it.
You are responsible for your content: that you have the right to hold it, that collecting it was lawful, and that you have any consent required from the people it describes. Where your content contains personal information about other people, you are the controller of that information and Melbarrel acts on your instructions. Our handling of it is described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use Melbarrel to break the law, to send unsolicited bulk messages, to store or distribute malware, to infringe intellectual property, to attack or probe our systems or those of others, to circumvent plan limits or access controls, or to resell the service without a written agreement. We may suspend an account that is causing harm, and we will tell you why.
6. Your own domain and third party services
You can point your own domain at Melbarrel. You remain responsible for registering and renewing that domain and for the DNS records it needs. Certificates are issued automatically through Let's Encrypt. Where you connect a third party service — a payment provider, a mail server, or similar — that service is governed by its own terms and we are not responsible for it.
7. Artificial intelligence features
AI features produce drafts. Output can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable, and it is not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. Review anything the assistant produces before you rely on it or send it to a customer. Actions that change your data require your confirmation, and they are logged.
8. Availability and support
We work to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, updates and factors outside our control can cause downtime. Support is provided through the channels shown on our website; free plan support is provided on a best effort basis.
9. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that puts the platform or other users at risk, or where required by law. After termination you may ask us to export your data for a limited period, after which it is deleted.
10. Intellectual property
Melbarrel, its software, design and brand remain ours. These terms give you a limited, non exclusive, non transferable right to use the service while your account is in good standing. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the product without obligation to you.
11. Disclaimers
Except as these terms state, the service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow such exclusions, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event that gave rise to the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Melbarrel against claims arising from your content or from your use of the service in breach of these terms.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will notify account owners by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction. This does not remove any protection the mandatory law of your own country of residence gives you.
